. Poles apart from thrilling, human-scaled La Castagniccia, you can step into a world of grandiose. Just had south of Calvi to the wild steep landscapes made of dazzling red granite. It is undoubtedly by boat that the coast offers its most beautiful views. Only yachts have the privilege of admiring the natural reserve of Scandola, listed in 1983 by UNESCO as a world heritage site, Marine d’Elbo and the tiny fishing village of Girolata. However, Porto and the extraordinary procession of famed red cliffs known as “Calanche”, easily reached by car, are worth the trip in themselves.
